Kathy Brice George

Kathy George is a member of the Board of Directors of Building Trust Americas. She is retired after a career as a public servant working with public pension funds in Texas and across the United States.

In 2013 Ms. George was looking for a way to celebrate her birthday. She wanted it to involve volunteer work and be someplace she had never been before. Having worked on many mission trips and volunteered with Habitat for Humanity (HFH) locally in Texas, she decided that an international HFH trip would be the perfect fit.

Her first HFH volunteer trip to Colombia was life changing. The people of Ciudadela Sucre, a community of eleven neighborhoods on the outskirts of Bogota, immediately captured a place in her heart. She has continued to work with them ever since and in 2023 celebrated her birthday again doing what she loves—volunteering shoulder to shoulder with residents. Ms. George is very excited to be a part of Building Trust Americas and to contribute to the nonprofit's impact on the communities it works with.

Ms. George and her husband live in Austin, Texas. She has 2 grown sons, 2 daughters-in-law, and 3 grandchildren. In addition to volunteering, she enjoys traveling, is active in her church, and loves doing just about anything with her family.
